Jodie Turner-Smith has filed to end her marriage to Joshua Jackson.
PEOPLE has confirmed that the Queen & Slim actress, 37, filed for divorce from the Fatal Attraction actor, 45, in Los Angeles Superior Court after more than three years of marriage.
Jackson and Turner-Smith tied the knot in late 2019 and welcomed their first child, a daughter, in April 2020. Turner-Smith has requested 50/50 shared custody in her filing, a source confirms to PEOPLE.
PEOPLE has reached to representatives for both Turner-Smith and Jackson.
The pair were together on Sept. 9 celebrating her 37th birthday in New York City, were also recently spotted at New York Fashion Week and helped launch the Lotus Emeya electric vehicle also in September, though Turner-Smith went solo to last week’s Albie Awards hosted by George Clooney.
Turner-Smith previously revealed that she was a fan of Jackson’s from his Dawson’s Creek days, and that they met for the first time at Usher’s 40th birthday party in 2018.
“When I first met my husband, we had a one-night stand,” the actress revealed on Late Night with Seth Meyers in 2021. “We’re in a two, three-year one-night stand now.”
In August 2019, Jackson and Turner-Smith sparked rumors of an imminent wedding when they appeared to pick up a marriage license in Beverly Hills, California. PEOPLE later confirmed that the pair tied the knot in December 2019.
In April 2021, the Murder Mystery 2 actress spoke to PEOPLE about how lucky she and Jackson were to have found each other.
“I think it’s really beautiful to be with someone who is so supportive and so loving,” she shared, adding, “We’re so similar in so many ways. We’re like mirrors for each other. And I just really love that human being.”
Jackson and Turner-Smith recently spent time together for her 37th birthday, stepping out in September for a celebration in New York City. They also recently stepped out together for a J. Crew event, walking the red carpet during New York Fashion Week.
This past May, Jackson told Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen that he knew Turner-Smith was “the one” when she “walked into the room looking like that.”
Turner-Smith told Forbes in 2022 that she wanted to marry her husband because of “how loved and supported I felt by him” in those early years.
“I had never been with anyone who I thought was wanting to lift me up the way that I felt that he was lifting me up,” she revealed at the time. “That is one of my favorite things about him.”
This was the first marriage for both actors.
